Iceland is like no other country in Europe, in fact I would go as far as to say that the island of ice & fire in the north Atlantic is unique. The island is rugged and beautiful, a last remaining unspoilt nature paradise on the edge of Europe.
A midsummer nights dream is the only way I can describe my first encounter with Iceland.
I arrived at Keklavik Airport at midnight but outside it wasn’t really dark as the sun barely touches the horizon at this time of year making for very long days & prolonged sunsets. Just what I was looking for. The only problem is when do you sleep?
One of the world’s most scenic coastlines combined with dramatic volcanic landscapes is an absolute eye opener.
My second visit to Iceland was intentionally set for Winter. I had already witnessed the island in the height of Summer but Winter caught my curiosity even more & so I decided on a trip in February & actually had some gorgeous weather between the snow & windstorms.
