Wilderness Pure, On The Edge Of Europe

Iceland is like no other country in Europe, in fact I would go as far as to say that the island of ice & fire in the north Atlantic is unique. The island is rugged and beautiful, a last remaining unspoilt nature paradise on the edge of Europe.

Icelandic Summer

I arrived at Keklavik Airport at midnight but outside it wasn’t really dark as the sun barely touches the horizon at this time of year making for very long days & prolonged sunsets.

Fresh air, mountains, fairy-tale castles, great football, beer festivals, luxury cars & traditional folklore are just some of the highlights to be seen in Bavaria.

Icelandic Winter

One of the world’s most scenic coastlines combined with dramatic volcanic landscapes is an absolute eye opener.

My second visit to Iceland was intentionally set for Winter. I had already witnessed the island in the height of Summer but Winter caught my curiosity even more & so I decided on a trip in February & actually had some gorgeous weather between the snow & windstorms.

Did You Know?

There are no surnames or family names in Iceland – Icelanders use the traditional Nordic naming system, which includes a last name that is comprised from their father’s (or mother’s) first name with the addition of -dóttir (-daughter) or -son.
