I have visited many cities especially in Europe, London, Paris, Rome, Reykjavik, Venice, Berlin & Florence to name but a few. One of the main reasons for visiting any city is to admire the architectural highlights they have on offer, be it Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower or one of the many cathedrals & palaces that are open to the public. In recent years we have built numerous modern works of architectural art, some extravagant, many that are purely functional, there is something for every ones taste.
Many company’s, banks, insurance brokers & big name manufacturers have built massive complexes, mainly office blocks or headquarters for astronomical amounts of money to show what they have & make their mark on city skylines. A good example of this is the Swiss Re Insurance company in London with the “Gherkin”, an impressive landmark to be seen from almost everywhere in the city. Not only modern architecture is represented in this gallery however, classic works from the past are also to be admired.
